What is a jubilee Year?
A Jubilee Year is a sacred time in the Church, occurring only every 25 years, fostering holiness through reconciliation and communion. The Jubilee Year 2025, themed “Pilgrims of Hope,” offers special graces through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, local pilgrimages, and the Jubilee Indulgence. The Jubilee Year officially began on December 24, 2024, with Pope Francis opening the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. It will conclude on January 6, 2026, the Feast of Epiphany.
